Description
These wooden hand mirrors originated from my wife wanting to give our sister-in-law, Roma, a wooden hand mirror for Christmas 2008 but she could not find a single one in the area. So I bought a mirror at the local craft store and found some leftover maple in the shop.
A few months later, I finally broke down and bought the CNC router I have been wanting since I saw the high-end one my manufacturer used to create my lighthouse cribbage boards. Programming the router to cut hand mirrors was one of the first projects I did with it. The first mirror I made on the new router was a gift for my wife, Sarah.
The “Sarah” wooden hand mirror features a 4″x6″ beveled edge oval mirror in a wooden handle. All hand mirrors are left natural to show the beauty of the wood and finished with Polywhey, a low VOC polyurethane alternative made in Vermont from a byproduct of the cheese industry.
